Mingre

Mingre is pure elegance. Each varietal in this blend lends a unique element to build a complex, balanced wine. Grapes are gathered from carefully selected parcels on the Mingre estate, which produces our finest wines. Mingre has a deep red soil which is rocky and clayey due to the proximity of the Coastal Mountain range. We produce this wine with dedication and care, using grapes that have been hand-selected and harvested at less than 4,000 kilos per hectare to ensure the coloring that will withstand 14 to 18 month of aging in French oak barrels after fermentation.

Block Series

The J. Bouchon Block Series is all about terroir. Each wine in this collection starts from carefully selected grapes from parcels of less than two hectares in an effort to capture the essence of its origins. We work our vines lovingly, harvesting small batches no larger than 8,000 kilos per hectare in order to maintain a higher concentration of color and structure. Barrel-aging is used in the production of the J. Bouchon Block Series without affecting the wines’ fruit notes, and the results are both fresh and complex.

Canto

In the words of the famous Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro, “The four cardinal directions are three: north and south.” Canto consists of two different blends in a marriage between these polar opposites using grapes typical of the Bordeaux region of France and the Maule Valley of Chile. Playing on themes of north and south and the past and present of J. Bouchon, these blends give us two elegant wines which reach unexpected heights, letting the voice of their deep-rooted terroir sing through the flavors of the vine. Canto offers Julio Bouchon and his children a chance to interweave the French winemaking traditions that still course through their veins with the profound love they have found over the years for their vineyards in the Maule Valley.

Reserva

J. Bouchon Reserva was conceived to capture the best of the Maule Valley with expressive, satisfying wines. This line is produced using select grapes from our vineyards at Santa Rosa, Las Mercedes and Mingre. With J. Bouchon Reserva, we are committed to creating a consistently high-quality wine that can be trusted each time a bottle is opened over the years.

Canto

Canto Norte is a mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc which pays homage to the red blends of Bordeaux, the starting point of the Bouchon family winemaking traditions and the original home of Emile Bouchon who came over to Chile from France in 1887. It is made with grapes from our Las Mercedes estate. Canto Norte is a balanced, medium-bodied wine with strong fruit notes and a long finish.

Our Block Series Malbec is made with grapes from PARCELS 40 and 47 of our Santa Rosa vineyards in the Maule Valley. These parcels have sandy clay soils. Located just meters from the Maule River, these vines benefit from the sea breeze which follows the river up from the Pacific Ocean and contributes to a slow, balanced maturation of the grapes and a well-preserved nose in the wine.
